Christy Whiting joined the staff at St. Mary in 2018. Her passion is to introduce people to the Holy Spirit, who fills us with God’s love and empowers us to bring His life-changing love to those around us. Previously she co-founded and directed the Upper Room ministry at Christ the King Parish in Ann Arbor, leading weekly Praise & Worship events, facilitating classes and other special events, and doing social media outreach. She has also done extensive prayer ministry, taught Life in the Spirit Seminars, traveled on mission trips, and ministered to young adults, college students, and teens. Before working full-time in the Church, she was a nanny, taught in a Montessori school, and was the administrator of a pro-life pregnancy resource center. She received her B.S. from Eastern Michigan University with a double major in psychology and (interpersonal) communication. In addition to her work at St. Mary, she is pursuing an M.A. in pastoral studies degree at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. When she’s not working, she loves to spend time with family and friends, enjoy nature, read, and go swing dancing.
